Using the site and structure of an abandoned church I was to develop a design concept that generated income and provided a benefit to the surrounding community. The original church structure was to remain intact with any new additions to be adapted to the rear of the building only. Using information gathered after conducting a site analysis, the new building operation was to be a microbrewery. Having applied creative thinking methods a concept was developed for the look of the space which took inspiration from California and the tropics in a self-proclaimed style named ‘The Brass Palm’. To achieve the look, special consideration was put on the selection of materials and the inclusion of a large custom light fixture over the bar.

To enhance the look of the space,
a custom light fixture was designed and is located above the central bar. It will act as a focal point as users enter the building.
