The brief for this project was to raise awareness on homelessness through the conceptual design of an interactive pavilion. A focus was put on the experience of movement that many homeless sufferers endure. Using this focus and additional exploratory methods such as model making, a design was developed that expressed movement to visitors through means of wayfinding techniques, water and landscape obstructions, colour, and interactive elements. Challenges arose in trying to achieve a design that was enticing to visitors yet also expressed concern into the topic of awareness. To accomplish this, a journey was replicated that would encourage interaction with the design but that was also slightly daunting and uncomfortable to highlight and make memorable the focus of the pavilion.
